There is not a single day when I don’t listen to songs. My favorite times for listening to music are, on my way to work in the morning (this two-song time is important for my emotional energy; it’s gearing my mind for the day), coming back home from work when I purposefully get off the cab five-songs away from my stop so I can walk and listen to music, and when I’m cooking or cleaning or walking to my lunch place. I create playlists for every memorable trip, or any significant phase in my life. I also enjoy creating shared playlists on YouTube with different friends so we can keep adding songs we discover together or feel that both of us would like. And then I have my yearly playlists. I don’t have a specific genre of songs I stick to, although I seem to lean more towards soft Asian pop and indie songs. I love a song when it has a certain emotion attached to it. That is why most of my playlists contain OSTs and feature songs from movies/series/dramas I watch or books I read because they made me feel a certain way while watching that particular show or reading that particular book.
